Hi!
Having a problem with om602 stock engine. W124 -91

When the engine is cold it runs as it should, when temp is @ 90c (warm engine) it starts acting a bit "funny"

When giving gas with the pedal it does not respond until halfway down, and just before you get the response there is this nasty knocking sound, engine is powerless and does not revv up, and if giving some more gas it is like the gear kicks in and it starts accelerating again.
Happens if i try to keep the engine around 2000rpm.
Also if giving very little gas it jerks back and forth until you floor the pedal.

I suspect there is something wrong with the fuelinjection.

What do you guys think? Ideas?

And! It smells like shit everytime the car has been running and I get out of it. Smells like burnt plastic or something like that. HuhHuh

Maybe. You have nothing to lose by trying. Although i think it would blow thick black smoke if it was stuck open.

Engine blows some smoke if revving it on idle. Pump has not been touched as far as i know.

take a hammer find a 50 cent euro coin, smash the coin til u can thin it enough to close the port at the exaust manifold.

If it is not EGR related you could try swapping your injection pump with a known good used one.See if the behavior changes.

Hopefully it is not an internal engine problem...

I hope the IP is ok... And ofcourse I dont have another pump to swap. Otherwise that is a good idea.
Maybe I'll have to get one
