I just did that on my 300sdl but I did it one cylinder/delivery valve at a time

would love to see a MB "M" pump complete disassemble reassemble
video explaining along the way.

for too many people the inside of injection pumps is a complete mystery.

Depending on what you define "shaking" you might want to search for damper screw (on the back cover of the ip).

engine has been rebuilt 15 days ago
compr/valve is ok, 5 injectors pop at 125-127 bar,...

yes,I have ordered rack dumper still waiting to come...
(is it possible to change it without taking oil filt.housing off?)

but few days before rebuilt I have taken pump to some bosch guys
and they told me that my elements are worn a bit, and in some
near future I have to change them ... do you or Goran have any
experience with DTP MW elements (made in Germany??) over here I can
get them 40e a piece ???

and my d-valves also had to be changed ....


btw I'm from Serbia ...

rack damper can be changed with all in place.

Are you sure you can get the small MW elements 1 418 414 001 from DTP?

Your Bosch guy, can you trust him?
There must be much to wear a diesel pump element (if fuel filter was in use and not too much red diesel was used).
Are you sure that he can not adjust the balance of the elements?

Take the pump back and install it. Then you turn the flange of cylinder 5 until idle is better.
Wait until larger MW elements are available (6 months).

Its not so that you have missed the overflowvalve so that you dont have any pressure in the pump? seems quite odd that the pump would bee worse after a test & adjust in the Boschshop.

Have you timed the pump correct? Dont turn the barrel if you are not sure that you have the fault there.
Do you have a turboengine and need aalot of power? If not you dont need any bigger elements, you just need a proper adjustment.
Is the engine ok timed in crankshaft / camshaft?

as for bosch guys I can not be sure, because I have no knowledge at all
considering IP technologies... I will try to take a pump to another shop just to cross reference data ....

how large those elements are gonna be? I would like to stick with
default turbo ... and maybe some 6,5mm el's Smile ?

at first while they rebuilt it IP timing degree was 15 ATDC and I told them
to correct it to default 24 BTDC. They adjusted it, but the shakes and
noise stayed.

yes,my engine is turbo but I do not need some serious additional
power (maybe if I see that I must change elements then I can try with some power increase... but I m satisfied as it is now, in basics I would like to have this engine as long as possible...)

proper adjustment over here does seem to be a science fiction because I can not find bosch guys with REAL knowledge.

as for pump timing I can only suppose what they did ... no way I can
prove anything as I have no basic knowledge about it...

I agree with Göran- balancing.
(I mixed up the cyl. 5 issue with another post).
Assuming that the pump has to go to a diesel shop for proper adjustment anyway, you could measure the glow plug voltage OUTPUT when the engine is running and the glow plug common socket is disconnected.
In the socket (where the it goes into the glow plug relais) you can take the voltage (mV only) and compare the individual cylinders among each other.
Then you carefully rotate the flange of the cylinder with lowest voltage.
The other voltages will then change also but in general it should be better than before.
This is not according to any correct instruction but can help.

Can you check timing with a strobe lamp at a Bosch service to confirm what the guys did?

default garret turbo (maybe add some 65mm exaust...) .... what kind of HP can be expected
in that case...?
