Hi guys,

I've been slowly modding my E300 W210 and it's time to tackle the EGR defeat.

Digging through old posts it's hard to see what the final result was for the resistors in the resistor/diode solution.  Most places seem to reference the same relevant wires, the same diode, and at least one resisitor.  Some threads however have a higher resistance on the defeat circuit.

Can anyone clarify which version seems to be happiest?

Thanks in advance for the knowledge and help.

Don't you still have to fool the computer into thinking that it has been opened with the resister + diode combination?

1992 W201 190D 2.0L and 1971 W108 280SE with OM606, electronic pump and 6 speed manual gearbox.

Not if you leave the valve in place and connected. The resistor trick is to trick the computer into thinking the valve is still in place if it's been removed altogether.

I got limp when I did that, apparently it compares against maf reading, anticipating reduced maf when egr is open.

seant chipped ecu? get more power then also..

Installed:

OM606/722.6, big IC, W220 brakes.
Planned:
DIY manifold, compound, 722.6 controller, built IP.
[i]Less rust..

Have you had the ECU tuned? Often the EGR function is deleted in the process.

No idea tbh. Hasn't bothered me yet. Anyone know of a cheap solution to do diagnosis on the w210?
