200hp om617
200hp om617
Doing a engine swap from a 300td 1982 to a 88 toyota 4x4 and ive been driving the 300td for a daily vehicle and need less to say it GUTLESS 0-60 in 20 sec! So i cleaned the alda lines and checked the maintenance items and fixed any and all oil leaks. also noticed that the alda tamper tin cap is gone.
so the goal is 200rwhp it HAS to be possible on stock long block.
the user (theturbodave) has a build on his 300td where he got above 200hp and used it for motorsports. im going to see about checking out his compound setup and cut delivery valves. now when he cut them he actually put a bevel on them so it doesnt smoke like thomas the choo choo train.
so the plan to get 200rwhp is to cut the dv and compound the turbos with custom intake and intercooler egt and boost gauges and bolt it up to the yota. to anwser your questions on drivetrain its a r150 toyota 5 speed with the 2.88 transfercase and 4.10 2 pinion open diff with 28'' all terrains
one question what is a good rpm for this engine? at 65mph my rpm is 3k and 80mph is close too 4k rpm so i thought maybe 30'' tires would bring my rpm to 2500rpm at 65mph id like to maximize mpg when not in boost.
My W212 200 cdi six speed manual is turning @1,600 rpms...and returns 50+mpg all the time....I think as you go up on the output, you have to come down on the highway revs
om617 M pumps seem to be the only IP that myna or pp diesel modifies for my application. from what i have read it cost $1500.00 or more for a pump upgrade. i just dont see spending that much on this iron lump when the motor can be bought for $300.
but my question is where can i find a second hand myna or pp diesel pump for sale? if i can get a modified m pump for $500 to $900 id buy. until then ill just cut a bevel into the dv and get nozzels.
I think this is from what Forced had said, and I am not sure if there are any dyno numbers to prove or disprove it. I have found a new shop near me with a dyno, so am tempted to dyno mine. mine is a 616, four cylinder not the 5(617). I seem to be near maxed out on the stock pump as further adjustments are not doing much more.

ok 617 or 617a? by the way a 300td is a station wagon. I am assuming by 300td you are refering really to a turbo diesel, and that is a 617a. the 617 is non turbo and is about 88 hp. Think most 617a(turbo) are around 125hp when in a 300d. 300d is the sedan, and could be had with or without the turbo, but always the 5 cylinder engine. this of course is just for the 123 body style, from 77 to 85. Short history lesson......hope I have it right.

I do still have the stock screw in there, it is maxed out. Not worried about it keeping max speed under control, that's my job as the driver..... So guess it is time to get a longer one. I have a truelly junk 616 ip, that I can take the screw out of to measure.
Good news on the elements.
by the way the rear sometime????
