83 240d, om603 7.5mm swap - Sltlytwkd - 03-14-2019

I impulse bought my 240d sight unseen after a couple too many beers last summer. I quickly realized how much of a slug these cars are! I then bought a 603 with 722.3 trans, radiator, and driveshaft off craigslist for the swap.

I finally got the engine, trans, and radiator mounted and running. I recently picked up a diesel meken 7.5mm pump and have that in the car as well. My current problem is that I need longer banjo bolts for the fuel inlet and return. Where can I get these longer banjos? I found some on Ebay but the return needs to be restricted. Should I just run an external regulator with a normal banjo instead?

an external regulator is what i would do. you doing an electric pump too?

Yes, I was thinking of feeding the stock lift pump on the side of the injection pump with a cheap electric pump. The banjos i found on Ebay are not long enough. Any idea where to get adapters for the fuel pump inlet and return? My next idea is drilling out some bolts and making my own. Idk!

eh the whole point of going electric is to ditch the stock lift pump. dont cheap out either. want to say fuel requirements are not that crazy tho. like 14psi or something like that. gph is up to you.

The gentleman I just sent my pump to for 7.5 elements said an electric fuel pump is necessary, and that a Holley Black is a good choice.

Sweet, the Holley series was exactly what I was looking into. And I will ditch the stock pump then. I'm guessing the electric pump should be as close to the tank as possible right? 3/8" hose should be plenty also?
