OM602 Stroker - orion - 11-01-2018

Hello together,

my intention is to rebuild the 602 with an 29DELA crankshaft and a little bit work on the enginehead, turbo and pump. I have calculate, with this crankshaft the engine have a little bit more than 2750 ccm.
Do I need ohter pistons or is it possible to keep the pistons from my OM602 turbo?

Best regards

I believe the compression height is the same but you will need shorter connecting rods.

RE: OM602 Stroker - orion - 11-01-2018

Can I take the rods from the 29DELA?

RE: OM602 Stroker - baldur - 11-01-2018

I do not know what a 29DELA is.
I know that the OM602.940 (2.9 indirect injection, also known as OM662.910) has rods with 26mm pins that are not very strong. The OM602.980 (2.9 direct injection) has rods with 28mm pins that are very strong.

The OM602.980 is the engine that I mean with the 29DELA

Yes those should fit, assuming the compression height is the same on OM602 2.5 pistons as on 2.9 pistons.

I used om602 2,9 crank and rods in my 605 turbo with om605 turbo pistons. Did just have to make a smal adjustment of the piston skirt.
