Anyone have OM617 M-IP Dyno Results? - rdavisinva - 12-06-2015

Does anyone have dyno results from one of Goran's M-IPs with external ALDA and 7.5 mm plungers?
Someone who has this config was posting on another forum thinking he was getting about 250HP and several people posted that 250HP out of an OM617 was BS.
I know it's possible, but these doubters want to see some dyno results.

So anyone have duno results for M-IP 7.5mm plungers with external ALDA?

I don't think you can get that much with the stock turbo, manifolds, injectors and such.  There just isn't enough air.  If you have an electric fuel pump, efficient manifolds and turbo I think you can get there.  I am putting together a set up going for 275hp-300hp.  I'm hoping to get it on the dyne in a few weeks.  I will post the results here.

I agree with torkey. Stock turbo would be limiting factor

RE: Anyone have OM617 M-IP Dyno Results? - scrubs - 12-08-2015

I'm running the T3-60mm  hybrid, w115 manifold, full width IC, M-pump 7.5mm, & researching injectors for best application,.3" open exhaust & havent messed with boost yet tho set at 13lbs

It's my build and when mentioned 250hp out of a om617a BS was called.

Read here n elsewhere that it can be easily done but living in BF Egypt n budget running low i am turning to guru's here for clarification & support rather than running to find dyno which I can't afford to prove to a om617a doubter

60mm inducer on the turbo or a 60 trim T3?

off topic, but I see you are from IL. Any chance your a tractor pulling fan and going to Gordyville?

Same as Captain Americas build in turbo thread, thanks for reply,
No no tractor pulls but thinking on going to scource a tuner locally

That would be great.
Hope you make over 250HP.

Someone with much better calculatory skills than mine could calculate how much power it should put out for how many cc's it flows vs the turbos size. But that guy Isn't me lol. 250hp is a lot to ask out of a 60 trim stock charger. I'm not saying it can't be done, but I honestly think the charger would be the bottle neck before you hit 250.
You could also run your car down the local drag strip and you can calculate HP very accurately that way, as long as you know the weight.

I will be at gordyville this year, it's a great time!

First of all, I absolutely don´t care if anybody  says something is possible or is impossible for the purpose of a proof! I couldn´t care less.
Just build your engine and have fun.

I don´t have dyno results for a 7,5mm M-pump.
But I have for a OM617A with stock turbo and stock MW injection pump. Just some  things were modified.

So by changing several components and some more settings 250HP don´t seem too far away.  I will stick with the standard MW-pump and turbo for some more testing and evaluation.

You're right,  I'm having fun, the place is more difficult than it's worth

Have met one person from the site that is worth his weight in Gold n that's about it,
Thanks for the reminder of just having fun, that's all it's about.

RE: Anyone have OM617 M-IP Dyno Results? - scrubs - 12-10-2015

Oh the person worth his weight in Gold is the original Poster to this thread, flat out just a Good Man with the best of intintions in providing information that a om617 can be a HP engine.

RE: Anyone have OM617 M-IP Dyno Results? - Evenglass - 12-10-2015

Well I'm in the process of installing a 7.5mm M pump with external ALDA and Hx30w turbo. I'm hoping for 200hp, I plan on dyno after it's done I'll post up what I get.

RE: Anyone have OM617 M-IP Dyno Results? - Petar - 12-10-2015

I could bet that with enough fueling and boost the 617A will make 300hp easily  Smile

At only 1 bar boost it is kinda hard to believe 250hp, but 170-220 could be possible if the torque is retained high enough into the rev range  Big Grin

You must be smoking black like there is no tommorow lol  Tongue

RE: Anyone have OM617 M-IP Dyno Results? - rdavisinva - 02-01-2016

Anyone have updates who has installed the M-Pump with the 7.5mm plungers?

RE: Anyone have OM617 M-IP Dyno Results? - MTUPower - 02-03-2016

You can always do the 0-60 mph run and use the car total weight and convert that to HP. It'll get you in the ballpark. In a wagon I'm at 9 seconds to 60mph which puts me about 165-170 hp.

RE: Anyone have OM617 M-IP Dyno Results? - Torkey - 02-24-2016

This is our dyno result with a stock MW pump.  116hp at the wheels.

I did a search but couldn't find the specs of your vehicle. Would be interested to hear what mods you made to get that figure. Thanks for sharing the dyno chart BTW!

The engine is stock.  The turbo was swapped for a Garrett 2860 with intercooler.  The injection pump is stock with the fuel turned up.
