717.411 information - PedroFerreira - 01-07-2015

can this andle 240hp and 400nm? easy to instal in my om603 300d turbo?
what flywell can i use?

RE: 717.411 information - swampmonkey - 01-08-2015

single mass flywheel, (take a picture of the box and i can help better if it realy is single)

and it could work, but it depends on how you drive it. i havent heard that the 411 is strong, but it "could" work.
as long as you dont upgrade the clutch, its probably the clutch that will be the problem and not a broken gearbox.

but i might be wrong Smile someone else might have better input Smile

RE: 717.411 information - winmutt - 01-08-2015

Want to say its rated for 85NM but my memory is old and flakey. I blew one up earlier this year.

RE: 717.411 information - PedroFerreira - 01-08-2015

what material have to use do put a 6 speed gearbox? (w210 220cdi) what fly wheel?

RE: 717.411 information - swampmonkey - 01-08-2015

6speed is dualmassflywheel, hansebanger still has his as a dualmass, so should work for your power Smile

RE: 717.411 information - Stamsaas - 01-15-2015

The 717.411 is "stronger" if you read on forums, but its not strong. Keep away from 3th gear and you will be ok. Or atleast be gentle with it, 3th is a quitter Smile

Box is to singlemass flywheel.

RE: 717.411 information - benzguy - 01-15-2015

How about 717412 is that stronger or the same as the 717411

(01-15-2015, 11:04 PM)benzguy How about 717412 is that stronger or the same as the 717411
or the 717.460 from w202 250TD engine?

RE: 717.411 information - swampmonkey - 01-16-2015

as far as ive heard, in terms of strenghtness.

weekest to strongest,
717.41*, 717.43*. 717.450, 717.401, 717.404

id guess the 717.460 is atleast the same as 717.43* gearboxes, or perhaps the 717.450,
the sixspeed 270CDI somewhat along the 717.404.

BMW,
5speed 525tds, 6speed 530tds and strongest 5speed 530tds ("way stronger than the sixspeed")

C270 cdi uses a 616 gear box, 6 speed one the insights are nothing to do with the 717.
717 has a problem in the secodary shaft bearing, thats why the 3rd gear colapses. and the other is that to achieve smooth shifting MB uses the gears to slide against each other under TQ. something that is good for smoth shift, but under extreme TQ forces the gears against the bearings , resulting in execive play, prone to failure.

716 has completely diff engenering, i dont belive that any engine will be able to break it , unless it is abused. MB boxes dont hold direct shifting, it is a Conception problem.
fit a 616 , half fluid ATF half W90, clutch shifts all the time and u´re fine for a long time.
regards.

717.41*, 717.43*. 717.450, 717.401, 717.404
Which of those can be used with a single-mass flywheel?
It would be great to know for sure.
Thank you.

RE: 717.411 information - benzguy - 02-18-2015

You can use the 717411, 717412, 717404, 717401, 717430 with a single mass flywheel 717433, 717450 takes a dual mass flywheel

RE: 717.411 information - soltysrsz - 02-19-2015

hi,

got a "pal" that said his 603 was "benched" to about 350hp, and he broke his, and the second he got aswell.
but i have no idea how he drove them, welded diff, and pumping the clutch in third gear probably.

one of the "stronger" gearboxes, but also expensive.

Sprinter flywheel is the easiest i think, has the width of a dual mass but is a single mass flywheel
