Exhaust Flanges for 603 motor - TurboTim - 10-08-2014

Does anyone know where to get exhaust manifold Flanges for a 603 engine? Looking to build a new turbo manifold.

RE: Exhaust Flanges for 603 motor - Simpler=Better - 10-08-2014

What's your timeframe? I can probably get some made up in a couple weeks if there is interest

RE: Exhaust Flanges for 603 motor - TurboTim - 10-08-2014

Yeah much more then a couple of weeks and I may get impatent. I can have my normal guy make them but he can only do 1/4 inch at this point.

RE: Exhaust Flanges for 603 motor - raysorenson - 10-08-2014

I'm interested. I've got a 602 and a 603 I'd like to build headers for. How thick?

I can provide the required flanges if you can send me accurate profiles of the gasket area. I can mill up to 5/8 inch in thickness if needed.

Would an exhaust manifold gasket work? What kinda cost and time are you thinking?

6 cylinder flanges cost about 150 USD (Cummins). It would take roughly a week to slip it into the work flow and ship it out. If we could get several pieces made, it would reduce the individual costs somewhat.

A manifold gasket would be ideal.

Lets do it. What do you need from me? Can I get your number?

RE: Exhaust Flanges for 603 motor - raysorenson - 10-09-2014

And I need 1 for a 602 and one for a 603. 5 cyl discount? =).

I see other OM603 flanges use a 40.5mm port diameter.

RE: Exhaust Flanges for 603 motor - raysorenson - 10-09-2014

You can get flanges from Sweden for 450 Krona. ~65 USD. Shipping might suck. You want to go in on a buy TurboTim? Anyone else?

+1 on this, ive bought two OM605 flanges from them. Part was at my shop in about 1 week.

I'll send you a PM with contact information.

Raysorenson. If you want to get in on this, we can oblige the 5 cylinder 602.

Price is dependent on specifications of course. If you just want the 9-10 mm flange, that does reduce the costs.

Rusty.

I'm going to see how it pans out with KL racing. Thank you and simpler for the offer to make these.

Mind commenting on the actual shipping charges? Looking for a total to your doorstep.

I'd be in for a couple 603 flanges. If we can get enough momentum here, it would best the alternatives mentioned + s&h. Care to break down some price points for us?

10mm mild steel @ X(qty)=$Y

Not sure if thicker is necessary, is it? Different material? A sub hundred dollar piece would ROCK

Have a gasket to contribute to the cause, too.

I'm thinking quanities could be belted out once/twice a year and offered at almost half that amount. Just what a diy'er on the cheap needs.

RE: Exhaust Flanges for 603 motor - Duncansport - 10-17-2014

i think most will need 2-3 flanges when attempting their own header/manifolds Confused

Haha. That's the last part you weld too. After pricing all the stuff and considering the time involved, Fred's headers are starting to look reasonably priced.

I'd be in for a flange for an om606 also

I think this is a good idea. I will look into a 3/8 inch flange in mild steel and a batch run. That should bring the prices down under 100 USD for forum members. I will do the 603 engine first as there seems to be more interest at this time. I will look into other engines as we move forward.

I got a 606 gasket and the 603 gasket should be here today and I will send them off to you right away.

Here...

http://www.superturbodiesel.com/std/Thread-Bolt-patterns-flanges-mounts-etc

...you have the om606 flange posted by me. Also fits 605 and 604.

Missed a couple of numbers while doing it, but that's commented on and I wrote it in a post further down.
