OM603 Pump info please - Y444TES - 03-18-2014

Hi my name's Sam I'm new to the forum I've done a search but I can't find and good info on om603 pumps. I'm putting a om606 in my 190D. I got most parts ready for the swap but I'm struggling to find a om603 turbo pump but I can get a om603 N/A pump tomorrow. So what I need to know is is there differences with the pumps and can I modify a N/A pump to work or would I be best awaiting for a turbo pump to buy. Any help would be grateful thanks Sam.

Hey Sam im currently doing exactly the same thing! I thought I had most of the parts ready before I started the project lol...
What way are you going about it?

You wont find a turbo pump in this country. Get an NA pump and it will be fine. The only difference is the turbo pump has a device called ALDA. It basically limits fuel before full boost is reached in order to minimise black smoke.

A guy called Dieselmeken on here does a retrofit device which acts in the same manner, but is also adjustable. Win-win.

Any 603 pump is fine, fabricate an alda with an old wastegate actuator to act on the stop lever, google it, it's not complex.
