FS-617 Blank Exhaust Flanges - Simpler=Better - 01-20-2014

These are 1/2" thick mild steel, the elbows are stamped units with a seam and less than perfectly formed ends and a wall thickness of ~0.100" (see photo)

$100 for a set of flanges
$150 for a set of flanges +10 elbows
Post or PM if you want a set, I accept paypal, money orders, etc. May take a trade for a W115 intake manifold Wink

The 1.25" kits are the easiest to work with, they can be made up with minimal grinding/hammering. The 1.5" kits will take a significant amount of grinding and hammering. It is possible to take a set of 1.5" flanges and weld 1.25" elbows to it (see photo).

I've got the following in stock:
3x sets of 1.25" flanges
3x sets of 1.5" flanges

3x sets of tight radius 1.25" elbows
1x set of tight radius 1.5" elbows
1x set of wide radius 1.5" elbows

will you offer any stainless?

(01-21-2014, 02:06 PM)DirtDiesel will you offer any stainless?

I don't right now but I can get some cut if there's interest. What grade & thickness are you looking for?

I went with mild steel because it's easy to weld and in my experience takes heat cycling better, but I'm open to suggestion.

RE: FS-617 Blank Exhaust Flanges - DirtDiesel - 01-21-2014

stainless is fairly easy as long as you keep moving. and your roots will be a lot smoother if you can purge your pipes. I was mostly curious I don't really know what the pros and cons are but its seems people like them. ill do some more research.

RE: FS-617 Blank Exhaust Flanges - MFSuper90 - 01-22-2014

Lots of people don't use stainless because it's more prone to crack.

RE: FS-617 Blank Exhaust Flanges - Gearbound - 01-22-2014

I have looked into making custom exhaust. where did you find the elbows?

Yarp Wink $5/pop is damn cheap unless you want to buy at least $100 at a time.

Acestainless.com has the cheapest stainless ones though.

RE: FS-617 Blank Exhaust Flanges - DirtDiesel - 01-23-2014

those aren't very thick at all. I think if I were to try and do stainless id want something like .200-.25 thickness. otherwise I think I would get some of there stuff.

RE: FS-617 Blank Exhaust Flanges - Gearbound - 01-23-2014

304 SS is what my manifold is made out of with hx35 hanging on. no braces. mild steel flanges, tig welded, 2 years of abuse.

RE: FS-617 Blank Exhaust Flanges - DirtDiesel - 01-24-2014

stainless to mild steel?

RE: FS-617 Blank Exhaust Flanges - Greazzer - 01-24-2014

GREAT work Ryan !

RE: FS-617 Blank Exhaust Flanges - sassparilla_kid - 01-26-2014

These would be sweet for custom turbo exhaust for 240's

Spring cleaning:

$60 for a set of flanges shipped CONUS

SOLD in the 1.25 flavor! Shoot me your P.P. address and I'll pay for it.

RE: FS-617 Blank Exhaust Flanges - raysorenson - 06-22-2014

I got the flanges and weld-els in the mail the other day. Your stuff looks great. It's going to be a few months before I actually get to begin welding but it looks like a solid product and the price is totally reasonable. I should be able to make something really cool with it.

I reckon I'll take a set! Except I'm gonna make things confusing because I'm gonna use them on the 240, which I think means I'll need two of the end ones and one of the double guys for the middle?

If it's easier I can make it two regular sets of flanges so you don't have to split sets up

I might need a couple elbows too, I'll pm in the next day or two once I figure it out

No sweat, I can mail you two sets and you send back what you don't need after playing legos with em'
You should be fine just cutting off the #5 cyl from a regular set. FYI the center and ends are slightly different-nothing a grinder can't fix though.

I've still got a bag-o-els let me know how many you want. In case it's not clear, the els are $5/pop flat when you buy a flange whether you want 2 or 40.

RE: FS-617 Blank Exhaust Flanges - yota4life - 07-10-2014

Any pics of them put together?

RE: FS-617 Blank Exhaust Flanges - Simpler=Better - 07-11-2014

Narp, still have to:
Dig a trench
Bury conduit
Drill a 2" hole in my foundation
Setup breaker boxes
Run wire
Clean my shed
Wire my shed
Get a welder(have a line on one)
Not burn my shed down welding

RE: FS-617 Blank Exhaust Flanges - Simpler=Better - 08-19-2014

Alright kids, so you can make these fit a 616 by using two end pieces It will take some grinding though, and probably some kind of support welded on the end.

I'll sell the right combo for a 616, but you've got to understand that it's not a perfect fit and will take some grinding & welding on the bolt holes to make it line up right. Same price for the lego'd 616 assembly as a 617 assembly. Next batch I'll probably get 616-specific flanges made up.

If you want to use these on a 616 I'll be sending you 1.25" flanges as they can be ground to match the gasket. The 1.5" flanges match the 617 so I'll push them that direction.

Photos are of 1.5" dia flanges on a 616 gasket, hence the holes being oversized. The 1.25ers fit inside the 616 ports pretty well.
