Black Smoke Racing transmission? - Bangaway - 02-19-2013

Anyone know anything about the transmission in the Black Smoke Racing W123 wagon? On their website it says they are using a modified E55 AMG gearbox. As you can see on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWoOMepMQak&list=UUR9bEqWxOhmeT-vo88kyLFQ&index=3 about the 2:40 mark, he is not using a clutch pedal only a manual shift lever. Anyone know the details of this setup? I like the idea of shifting with no pedal.

A "manual valve body" in a domestic auto can have a similar effect.

I can't speak for their earlier setups but their current setup is pretty cool, it uses an open-source Arduino computer to control the shifts.
