got some more done on the steering, bottom wishbones where lenghtened by 2 inches and knuckle moved on hub for trackrod end so the steering linkage was made 3inches longer at each side

I would take the bell to a machinist, it should only be $100 or so to get it surfaced-shouldn't be much harder than a block or head.

Nice work, clean welds too! Bummer the bell housing wrapped. Can you guys get that heat stop gel? I use it here sometime when welding works great..

P.S. didn't know you could get Snap-On tools in N-Ireland.

Snap-On was on "How it's made" last night. After seeing what goes into their ratchets, they're definitely worth the $$ if you're doing any heavy work.

i think i will cut the column inside and mount it to the front cage bar.

That doesn't work with rack and pinion steering? Yours is with recirculating ball?

W211 steering rack is approx 2.8 turns vs 3.3 on w210. I'd like to get my W210 steering quicker but quick way to happiness is not easy on this car...

just set engine in, sitting forward slightly, don't want to modify firewall as not allowed on drift cars anymore over here.
supra back end was a big job, a lot of cutting and modifying.

gearbox redone again tonight, another auto box got the chop for the bell housing.lol
all milled flat.

this bell housing is slightly different shape but has more ribs in it, so is stronger.

4" downpipe on RHD - thats good work! I have a 3.5"(at turbo) to 3" (DP) one on my W124 RHD with about 10mm of clearence all round.

if you have 10mm all around, its a 20mm space, and a 4" os 25.4mm bigger, si if you hammer it little bit it should fit Wink

tapered pipes go through flange and start taper off right at head.

decided to make equal lenght manifold, runners arte pretty long but its the only way i could do it to get turbo to sit low for 4inch down pipe to go underneath.
all tacked up with mig, then to bench to be tigged up.
