4 Speed Conversion - Greazzer - 10-15-2011

First, a STD thanks to Dropnosky & SurfRodder for ALOT of info on the 4 speed conversion. You helped me get over my jitters and concerns of taking the leap.

This came from a Euro 300D 5 cylinder. Because after 4 years and no luck finding a 5 speed, I am going to settle on a 4 speed.

I am attaching a picture of the 4 speed I located. I should have it shipped shortly. I need a Flywheel, speedometer cable, clutchkit, and some odds and ends. Any 300G flywheels out there for sale? I will add more once I start this project.

Also, I will have a very strong Autotrans and a virtually brand new driveshaft (upgraded with grease joints) that cost around $500 for sale in about a month. Please PM if interested.

Nice looking "Iron" trans your going to get. Looks like you have most of the pieces there for the conversion.

Not a "G" flywheel, but a "D" version from Germany.

Hey DeliveryValve,

Any more info on the "D" version (NOT "G") flywheel -- my bad.

Is that good price on Ebay? What about shipping to USA. Does anyone know about that?

Thanks,
Mark

I thought you were using the "G" to refer as the 300GD flywheel which takes a wider diameter clutch.

Here is a pic of a comparison between the 300D and a 300GD flywheels compared side by side

I don't have any more information on that eBay "D" flywheel, but the ad states shipping is €65.00 which is $89.75 US.

But $300.00 is the market price for a "D" flywheel. You can however get a new "G" flywheel from the Classic Center for over $600.00.

Delivery Valve,

Thanks again .... Looks like another $400 or so invested into the conversion. I will probably have over $1,000 into this by the time I am done. Hope it turns out. LOL.

RE: 4 Speed Conversion - JB3 - 10-15-2011

you could use a 240 flywheel, most do that I think. Lots more around, lighter, but way cheaper, prob 75-150 bucks depending on where you get it.
