so i guess if i'm shootn for power/efficency i should address the mani's. so what are the best "bang for buck" mani's? both IN and EX? unless you all have other ideas, like stockers that will flow just as well?
ANY input is appreciated

I think there are some good intakes but for exhaust you'll need to weld one up.
I could be wrong, wait for some of these old mbz experts to chime in.

As far as intake manifolds, the best you could get would be the w115 manifold, exaust would be from the turbo models before they started adding the EGR, the 78 and 79 SD.

im going to delete the egr with a kit someone sells. are there other benefits to getting the actual non egr manifold?
would i be better off to do a log mani? is there kits for them?
how much to get a modded IN mani like yours?
are there any benefits to be had by P&P these stockers?

Yes, the non EGR exhaust manifold is said to flow better than the EGR version.
The W115 is basically a log manifold and should provide better low end torque
You can get them at the junkyard if your lucky and spot one

Think I lost bottom end with the w115 manifold.
And the non egr exhaust manifold keeps 4-5 separated to the collector and the egr one doesn't.
Im going to the jy tomorrow if there is a non egr exhaust mani I'll snag it. I've had good luck finding those. Got 4 so far but the w115 manifold I've only ever found and seen one.

This is a cheap ass manifold and has run 368 hp with 426 ft lb torque.

There was only 1 non egr car there and it was the one I took the manifolds off of last time.

[/quote]hi, i have used Toms 7.5mm elements, standard internals, modified 6 cyclinder inlet manifold, 5 puk paddle clutch and welded diff.

lots of guys run log mani's on the volvos, i dont see many in the mbz world.

i think my manifold is not holding me back much yet but it won't be long.
My ecu is cutting fuel at 4900rpm but revs to 5500. Now i will try same manifold with mechanical pump.
I would like to make a new manifold soon. Do you know where i can get a 12cm housing for my holset hx35?
I would like to get 400hp on this manifold.

I have a NON-EGR intake manifold from a 1979 300SD, W116. I am willing to sell it for $40 plus shipping. It's light, so shipping should be around $10 or so. I am still lookiing for a W115 intake, however, so that is why I am selling. PM me if you're interested. Thanks.
