Swede - MB 190D 2,5 turbo - swede - 05-23-2011

Here's my 1988 190D with 2.5 turbo engine. Imported to Sweden from Germany in 1998 with the following options:

Auto trans
Cruise control
Manual sunroof
Manual windows
Power lock

For the moment it sits at a friends shop for maintance and rust removal Smile I been working as an auto tech for over 20 years (8 in Dallas Texas) but these days i'm running my own towing company so i don't have much time to work on my cars.

Will be a full paint job after the rust been taking care of, and i'm replacing both front fenders.

What to do and what's been done::

[Image: checkmark_-16-black.png] Engine oil + filter

[Image: checkmark_-16-black.png] Replace right front ABS sensor
[Image: checkmark_-16-black.png] Adjust and grease left front wheel bearing
[Image: checkmark_-16-black.png] Replace drivebelt tensioner

[Image: checkmark_-16-black.png] Fixing rust left, damn forgot the name in english Huh

Here is my towtruck and look what i drove to the junkyard Wink

The rear spoiler fits much better on my car, right?

And my powerlock vacuum pump is defekt so the junkcar had to surrender it's to me Wink

This junkcar was sold brand spanking new to the US ambassy in Stockholm, why would the US Ambassy buy a small MB 190 2.0?

Here's a picture of the thing i forgot the english name on? Anyway it's fixed now, had a huge hole in it.

RE: Swede - MB 190D 2,5 turbo - swede - 05-27-2011

(05-27-2011, 12:48 AM)Captain America You have a Cyclone!?!?!?!

Had a Syclone #2550, bought it in Dallas when i lived there and imported back home to sweden but it's no longer mine. Biggest money pit of car i ever had Sad

The Dakota R/T i bought brand spanking new from Huffines Dodge in Lewisville Texas (my work place between 1997-2004), Chrysler bought it back due to that class act law suit in 99.

RE: Swede - MB 190D 2,5 turbo - swede - 05-29-2011

Bought a used Momo wood wheel, it's a must in a Benzzz :-)

*************************************************

Sense i'm repainting my Benzzz i thought of doing it in a 2 color paintjob?

Did a quick PS picture where i just darken the stock color, what you think? Input are more then welcome but i'm keeping the stock color on the top part ok?

Got a junk 190 2.0E for free as a parts car, nice when you have your own tow truck Big Grin
Stripped for paint, keeping the stock #702 smoke silver above the mid body line. Under line will be #122 pearl grey, but there was no pearl in that paint Undecided
In both paint recepies there are both fine silver and extra fine silver because it's metallic colors.

My painter are going to replace the fine silver with a more course silver so the paint be more metallic look.

RE: Swede - MB 190D 2,5 turbo - swede - 08-18-2011

Almost done, painter is polishing the paint this weekend and after that i just have some minor things to do like:

Tint windows
Cut and install sportline springs
Install wood kit
Install wood steeringwheel
Install EGT & Boost gauge
Tune the IP
Install rear spoiler (already painted)
And some other minor things that come along

RE: Swede - MB 190D 2,5 turbo - iheartboost - 08-19-2011

so is it difficult to fix the jack points holes? mine are rusted as well and thats pretty much all the rust i have. so if i can fix that pretty easy i may do that and get it repainted.

Not difficult if you know how to operate a MIG welder, i guess you can buy all the sheet metal you need from a local Auto part store.

RE: Swede - MB 190D 2,5 turbo - iheartboost - 08-19-2011

great. i can handle a mig welder. did you just use steel and recoat it with some sort of anti rust?
