Thats awesome, props to that dude for calling out the japanese and bimmers at the end of the video.
I cant wait to see what upgrades they will have for it next year.

Now we need an American team with a Merc diesel in it competing!

Pretty sick vid, his english is a bit broken though. Did anyone hear what kind of transmission he has in there? I couldn't understand him but it sounded like he said Tremec?

Thanks man, what kind of modifications woudl need to be done to get that tranny bolted up to a om603?

RE: New video on Drifting Wagon! - ben2go - 11-18-2010

You would need an adapter plate, pilot bearing, clutch, and flywheel plus machine work to make it all interact without fighting.IIRC, the input shaft on a TKO600 has 26 or 27 splines,so it's kind of a unique set up.

Thanks for the info dude!

What do you think would be the easiest and most cost effective manual transmission swap to an om603 that could handle 450hp max?

You can up grade T5 or TKO to handle that kind of torque.

Would a T5 be easier to adapt to the om603? They are a lot more abundant and significantly cheaper as well. I figure if they can stand up to a v8's power then they should do fine with what I want, with a heavier clutch though for sure.

Here is some history on the T5 and what they came in.Scroll down and there's a list with specs. You'll need the highest torque rating you can find, but it still won't be enough for 400+hp without building the transmission.Diesels put out way more torque than a g@$$er.

Another version of what's above without the chart.
