Turbo on a 606... - henriksen81 - 09-27-2010

Hei

I just bought an original turbo and diesel pump from a 97 mercedes 300 turbo and I want to install it on my 606.910 engine. it's a 94' 300td.

Does anyone know if I can use the original Pump and if not, is it difficult to install the turbo-pump?

Yes using the turbo pump would be difficult. It's electronic, there's some electrical box that goes with it, and the pedal is connected to a position sensor.

You can use the original pump but you will not get much power boost.

94 should be mechanical, you just need to turn it up and replace the ADA with an ALDA.

Hi, technically, you can have the 6mm elements traded from the '97 pump into the '94 and the pump modified as stated with the ALDA for turbo duty. You'll end up with over 175 HP for your trouble.

Thanks for the replies!

I think I will start with just the original pump, just to see if it gives me some more power at all. With an intercooler it should give me a little extra.

Can I use the ALDA that comes with the turbo pump?

Sorry, there's no ALDA on the turbo. It's all electronic...
