OM605 W202 C-Klasse - MartinB - 01-23-2010

Hi everyone,

I have W202 C-klasse´98 250TD with OM605 (150hp), 290 000km, in good condition.

I want to increase engine power on about +-250hp, max 300hp with low or no smoke.

What I have to do for it (turbo,...)? I like HX35, but I am afraid of spool in 2000-3500rpm. I am daily driver.

You should look for an HY35 or an HE341 instead. Smaller turbine housing will spool up much quicker.

How much power (approximately) will have OM605 with HY35?...and will i have to modify my original electrical pump? I don´t want to see lot of smoke from my exhaust..Confused

250hp shouldn't be difficult with that turbo, plus a bunch of supporting parts (pump, intercooler, manifolds, etc).

Yes. You won't get more than 175hp worth of fuel without upgrading them.

Ok, my pump have 5,5 mm elements or 6,0 mm? I saw on this website, that the original "OM606 turbo" have 6,0 mm. So I need 6,5 mm elements? I really Thank you!

Hi Martin,

where are you located in CZ?

6.5mm M does not exist.
The 605 is a preferred engine in G-Mercedes and (mild) mods have been done by a specialist I know.
The Holsets are difficult to find, easier to find is a Garrett 22 or 25 which should be sufficient in combination with pump and intercooler for a daily driver.
Does your engine have the 5 cyl turbo inline IP (M)?

My Mercedes is completely original. IP is electronical and unfortunately I don´t know more info about it, because on these days is Mercedes in the paintshop.

I can order beer, say Thank You, Hello and Good Bye nearly accent free but that's it. I am responsible for one of our company's customer in Velim.
It's funny but I will be in Velim for a meeting next Thursday but together with my boss ;( but usually I travel alone and can have my beer where I want.

Is your IP a 5 cyl inline, like the ones of the 201 2.5 turbodiesel?
Do you have the IP# or photo?

After a few days searching on internet..I found 2 ideal turbocharger for 250-300hp on OM605.
