I've got a 722.608 from '98 E300TD and would like to upgrade the gearbox to handle considerably more torque.
Question:
Is a NAG1 from Dodge Magnum Hemi V8 Police package the same as SRT8 & 722.6xx AMG V8 internally? I've read the police & taxi trans had larger cooler but idk about gears & clutches.
Would a bellhousing swap and 4 bolt prop shaft flange be all I need or do I also need the V8 TCM?
Any/all info is appreciated!

(05-31-2017, 07:34 AM)You can fit more friction plates to your gearbox then it will handle a lot, if you want huge amount of hp/torq then take planetary gears from mb v8 or v12 gearbox then you can go beyond 1000hp if the jobb is done right. Your TCU will work. I Hope this will help you! I've got a 722.608 from '98 E300TD and would like to upgrade the gearbox to handle considerably more torque.

What are you putting it in. What car? If you are in a factory car you have to have the same gear ratios. So check to see if it is a large nag or small nag ratio set in EPC. If not then it does not matter much and throw it away and get a standard v8 transmission. Dodge or Mercedes and put a valve body in it and be done. No need to upgrade clutch packs at all. Swap the bellhousing if you need to for your application.
We put over a 1000whp whtq through stock transmissions at over 6k lbs awd vehicles.

use EPC with your transmission serial number.
