I had to change my oil cooler lines and of course the cooler threads stayed in the nut on one of the fittings.  Angry

This is how I fixed it..  I cut off the striped threads and machined it flat. Then taped it with a 5/8-11 tap.  Then I made a brass male to male adapter with a class 3, 5/8-11 thread on one end and a M22X1.5 thread on the other.

Awesome! I'll be keeping this in mind, my lower line is leaking.

I hate to tell you this now but Mercedes already has this as a solution.  Drill 21/32 for a M18 x 1.50mm tap. Tap the hole and use MBZ p/n 915013-013002 thread replacement adaptor.

$5 each from the dealer.

I had stripped threads on mine, took out the M18x1.5 fitting out of my spare engine's oil filter housing and got a workshop to tap and install it

Unfortunately it has a slight leak from the fins somewhere so I'm converting to AN10 now with a new cooler

I like that idea!  I am down to only one working car and didn't have an extra fitting, so I had to make one... Your idea saves having to make one!
