I'm planning about swap the engine to 606 from 602
And it's for 1/4mile drag race.

Project goals are
1. Over 500hp
2. Under 13second
3. Smash all 2litre gasoline.

Following parts will be used

1.HX40 or Garrett GTX35R
With
Eaton M90 loots charger

2. 8mm Dieselmeken IP

3. Watercooled IC

But here is the problem.....
Which engine should i buy????

There's so many 606s

962, 912, bla bla bla bla

Which engine should i buy??? And what is the difference between those variations???

-------------------------------------------
2002. 09 Ssangyong Musso SUT
OM662STP + 7.5mm + TD06-25G with customized 84mm compressor(2.4Bar)
-------------------------------------------
2002. 12 Ssangyong Korando
OM662LA 2.9ltr + RS191 5.5mm stock
-------------------------------------------

Looks to me like anything past om606.96x is turbo'd, and before was naturally aspirated. But as far as which are fully mechanical or make the most power etc... I don't know.

What do all you 606 guys think?

'82 300D -3" straight pipe, ALDA deleted, 3in1 glowshift gauge, HX30, egr-less manifold, A/W intercooler Big Grin

The difference is the 606 962 is turbo the .912 is NA. So better use the turbo.
Over 500hp ok. under 13sek could be. smash all 2 Litre NA not all. and 2l turbo never.
Hx40 is to small for over 500hp. dieselmeken pump no problem.

hansebanger, what is a reliable hp level for a w210?

Reliable being high horsepower, but not having to worry about axle shafts and blowing the trans to pieces
I know you'd have to beef up the 722.6
