Intersting I thought when I saw this.
Also the Rover use the MAF F00C2G2032, which is more then suitable for the E300TD Smile
I'll give him a shout in the next days.
Perhaps some here could do the same gizmo? No?

All those do is trick the ECU into dumping in more fuel by lying about the airflow, kinda pointless to even consider one.

Why is it pointless to have more fuel in? And maybe a lower rev, giving more boost?
Is this not what they all try to do with bigger element on the E300TD, more fuel, more kick. If you can do it electronicly, why not?

Because it literally tells the ecu "you have much more air than you think you have, you need more fuel". All that does is push the engine up the fuel curve, it doesn't "add" more fuel.
You'd be better served upgrading your induction system and getting a pro remap or the tools/software to remap. More upfront cost, but it gives a better result.

Then again, the Bosch ECU might be a total different beast from the EFI systems I'm used to, having never worked with one I can't say for sure.

Humm, sorry I'm lost there? It does not inject more fuel as you said on the first post?

It does, but it does it by telling the ecu that it has more air, when it actually doesn't.
So in effect, it just shifts the fuel curve lower in the rpm range without changing it.

It's sort of like removing the ALDA on a 617A and not tweaking the pump in any other way, it just tells the ecu to dump more fuel quicker without changing the max quantity.

Practically all Mb´s programs are pressure controlled, so no sense to do anything to maf.

Hi Tuikku,
pressure controlled? In the manifold? Controlled with the turbo boost? All this is controlled via the MAF, like the wastegate etc...
I had a different MAF, the F00C2G2032 and it did had better responses.
Now I have the F00C2G2029 and its a wee slower to kick in, but I think its due to fuel supply problems as the car "pulse", feel like it want to kick in but sturdy goes up, not hard kicking.
Can we then tweak the pressure?
I have above the mark at the moment at 19PSI, its normally 15PSI ( seems the norm here in the UK for the car compare with another E300TD)
Cheers.

No, your MB is pressure controlled.

Maf only job in your car is just watch over egr.
If maf shows too big values -> ecu correct the situation by increasing recycling so much, that amout on air descends to "right", orig. level.
If maf shows too little values -> ecu correct by dereasing recycling so much, that air value rises to right level.

but what about the waste gate? Is that what you mean by recycling?
as the maf control the waste gate.
Thank you.

I think Tuikku is referring to the control of the EGR valve Oliver.....the recycling he mentions is where the EGR valve is opening and closing to reintroduce the ehaust gases back through the engine.

Boost control is made over MAP in this case, not MAF. Just like tuikku said.

This is an advantage as you are not limited by MAF max. reading capability on these engines.

Thanks Riverstick, I thought so but I wanted to be sure as as I have the EGR electronicly removed ( I should have said), then the MAF is not controlling anything there with the recycling/ EGR as Tuikku said as there is nothing to compensate with anymore? Then this is a wee too odd for me.
Alex when the MAF is not working properly or on its way out, it cut off the boost by leaving the wastegate open, this is why I thought that wastegate is controlled by the maf? Then is the MAF not in control of the wastegate at all? Or its just a safety feature that if the MAF is gone the wastegate fully open?
Cheers.

Hi Riverstick,
I had the mod made for me by Dieselman on another forum as I am not good with electronics, but this is really simple after all. It was in peachparts made by Kartech, try to retreive it or I look for it later but there is an even easier mod now, thanks to the E300STC Smile
http://www.superturbodiesel.com/std/w210...-1871.html
No need to blank it.
If you need more help let me know.
Where about in Ireland are you? I was in the south west 2 weeks ago.
