Sondre's W124 Diesel - Sondre - 05-13-2012 Tossing out some pics of my car. Its a newly restored E250 Diesel 20V Engine and transmission has 150 000km on it I have bought some Eibach Pro Kit springs, that lowers the car 30mm, does anyone have any experience with them? The diesel pump is original, but will be sendt away for 7,5mm elements and a turbo ALDA at the end of this month. Also i got a turbo and manifold from a C250 Turbodiesel, but of course i will invest in a bigger and better turbo later on I also have a 722.3 transmission, from a 500SEC. And a 300E diff More updates will come RE: Sondre's W124 Diesel - DavidLee - 05-14-2012 That thing's Hella nice. 2.5L OM605 non turbo huh? that thing would be super rare here in the states, since we never saw a OM605 over here. Gorgeous car. keep us updated on your work RE: Sondre's W124 Diesel - peter - 05-14-2012 nice car, is this silver 744, my car should get the same colour. Where did you get the front spoiler, is it from AMG? RE: Sondre's W124 Diesel - Sondre - 05-14-2012 (05-14-2012, 02:38 AM)DavidLee That thing's Hella nice. 2.5L OM605 non turbo huh? that thing would be super rare here in the states, since we never saw a OM605 over here. Thank you Yep, i'll remember to keep y'all updated (05-14-2012, 06:09 AM)peter nice car, is this silver 744, my car should get the same colour. Thanks Yes the front spoiler is AMG, and i got it from another AMG we once had. I think finding the lights in the spoiler is the biggest challenge. And the color is 693 travertine beige, i think that's a very rare color for the W124, and was only offered on the 94-95 models i think. RE: Sondre's W124 Diesel - Riverstick - 07-29-2012 Any developments on this project Sondre? 693 travertine beige is a beautiful shade...I repainted a 1986 W124 300D that colour once several years ago and it really suited the car. I would leave the car manual 5 speed if i were you. The pumping losses on the torque converter are too much and you loose 7~10mpg plus performance. Drive a factory auotmatic in an E250 firstly and you will know what I mean. I would however change the rear end...a gearbox, driveshaft and diff from a 300D are a lot stronger and fit without any modifications....don't forget to get the instrument cluster/speedometer,if possible as you will have a different W factor from your transmission when you change your ratios. Who is doing your injector pump and what turbo will you upgrade to? |
