Newbie Hello - krashappy - 03-13-2009 I was referred to this site to find some guidance regarding a 603DT to a 606Dt swapout Im right now knee deep in. The nut shell of it is in a blog I began just 2 days ago http://xitstrtg.wordpress.com/ Lemme know if you find it interesting or can suggest greener pastures for my informational quest. Nice to be here and looking for some camaraderie! Krash RE: Newbie Hello - winmutt - 03-13-2009 Checked out your blog, love the fur pic, its big pimpin. Someone here will correct me but I believe the elements on the 606 pump are bigger than the 603. Isn't the 606 normally aspirated? RE: Newbie Hello - ForcedInduction - 03-13-2009 Yes, the 606 uses 6mm plungers where all other OM60x and OM61x use 5.5mm. 603 FI pump on 606 - krashappy - 03-17-2009 The 606 DT is the motor I have, and the plungers off the 603 may be smaller, I dont care. I will super turbo after the swap has been successfully completed. Right now I am stuck trying to find the recommended 14 degrees post tdc point on the FI pump, I did not lock it when it was removed. Any suggestions? Krash RE: 603 FI pump on 606 - winmutt - 03-17-2009 (03-17-2009, 01:08 PM)krashappy The 606 DT is the motor I have, and the plungers off the 603 may be smaller, I dont care. Any suggestions? Ah yes I believe its based on the missing spline on the pump? Not sure with 60X only 61X but those had M pumps as well. If you don't have an FSM now would be the time to hunt one down. RE: 603 FI pump on 606 - krashappy - 03-18-2009 [If you don't have an FSM now would be the time to hunt one down. [/quote] Ahh-ha ! Brilliant, I will check that today, Thanks. FSM (if this doesn't mean F*&ing Stupid Machine then I reveal yet another shade of green, whats this? I have a service engine manual, same thing ? Krash RE: Newbie Hello - winmutt - 03-18-2009 field service manual, yes. Same thing. RE: Newbie Hello - krashappy - 03-18-2009 No missing splines on either pump or timing wheel. Right now I just found the beginning of the 1st cylinder FI pump cycle, stuck it inside at TDC. figure that out later. Thanks. Krash: |
