Does using a 722.6 transmission with a bellhousing from say a 5.7L V-8 Mopar allow for more possibilities for different convertors than swapping on an inline 6 bellhousing that bolts right up?  In other words, does using the correct bellhousing for a OM606 limit your choices for different and/or aftermarket convertors for the 722.6?

simply yes. Only small converters fit in the inline housing.

Why would you want put a different converter in? For a higher Stall? if so just have yours modified. It is cheap and easy to do.
