Hi guys.

So I have w124 e300d(N/A om606) and soon I will be superturboing it so I am planning to replace the pistons and rods from turbo engine(its difficult to find and/or import complete turbo engine in my country so have to do this way) & I am actually getting the pistons and rods at fairly good price.

The seller says the rods are fine and not bent and pistons are good too except for the fact that some pistons have slight skirt marks

but says nothing that I should be worried of.
But before I confirm the deal, do you guys think these are ok both pistons and rods(as per pics).

Thanks

They look fine. The cast of the NA engine block is said to be weaker than the turbo version. Why not put H-beam rods in your NA block?

I might have to wait for H beam rods, keeping budget in mind. Likes of autoverdi costs alot more than for what I got these for(yes I paid for these). Might well upgrade to other rods in future.

About N/A and turbo engine differences. The true difference other than rods and pistons are most of the time not sure.
Some says their is no oil squiter for pistons in N/A version some say its there. And so is for the block

But honestly I was helpless and little impatient here. I "might" have found turbo engine here say some 100 miles away at a yard but chances were next to impossible along with what condition of it only god knows.

So thought to atleast grab pistons and rods and also bought rings. And see if I could make it all work. Starting goal is 400-500hp

Additional info
The BenzForce guy is selling NPR Europe ,forged pistons for these including rings for $100 each and he said he is soon getting custom h beam rod made for the same price

OEM turbo rods were bent in my build and these chinese ones hold the torque. Measures were correct but some rods had tto be reangled. For the price they are great.

What exactly was your setup. I have read(on this forum itself) people achieving 600hp on stock rods. And btw could you post up link to these chinese rods.

So recieved the package today
[Image: YLQjZJO.jpg]

All looked good except the three pistons had the chip shall I say
First
[Image: V3vTQ0w.jpg]
The most severe.

Second one
[Image: jQzFXK1.jpg]

Third one
[Image: fSM0AER.jpg]

Rest three were flawless.

Do you think these are ok to work?

Rods marked as 605.
Guess there was a thread about it that 606 rods has 605 printed. Basically the same?

Now close up of rods
