just as a point of reference-I have the transtar fm-70 torque converter on my my truck.. The listed stall for that converter is 2100 RPM. It feels pretty perfect for my setup. My truck weighs 5500 pounds and the OM606 seems to pull really well with it. In my truck, holding the lever in 2 forces 2nd gear starts and won't shift to third. I've done numerous of these pulls because i find the log files very useful in eliminating the shifting variables in the logs. My truck pulls fine, doesn't bog even starting in second and the boost comes on pretty quickly.
If my torque converter dies tomorrow- I would't change the stall speed at all on a new one.
