Hi-

I have an OM617 mounted into my Land Rover 110. Currently running a Holset HX30 and Barotte M Pump with 7,5 elements. It has been fun and I've learned a lot with this setup but I'm thinking of pulling the OM617 and going with a LR Tdi engine. The Land Rover spends more time in my garage than I do driving it. To be honest, it's my own fault. Instead of just doing the OM617 install, I've done the pump and turbo and IC and each time it takes a lot of fabrication and figuring out. With the Land Rover tdi I can get most parts off the shelf and they can bolt on.

Anyways, I'm thinking of selling my setup but bringing it to a soild stock+ performance level.

- Swap HX30 for the the He221 (I already have an OM617 exhaust manifold with a welded adapter for the He221)
- Pull the M Pump and injector lines and install the stock MW pump with Greazer Performance Overflow Valve
- sell the M Pump and HX30 to free some funds for a LR engine
- I may pull the head and get it freshened up so the OM617 engine and kit will be an easier sell

Questions:

- Has anyone run the OM617 with a stock MW Pump and HE221? If so, how was the performance?
- I'm a little out of my league on head work. I'm sure I can remove and replace but any place I can ship it to, to get the head gone through?

Thanks for any information

I'm thinking 200tdi as it has the mounts for it on the frame already.

I know the Merc can make more power with modifications but I just want to simplify. And I have a stumpy R380 already in the 110.
