Tachometer signal from DSL1 box

I am installing a om606.964 in a boat I have bought a DSL1 box from Baldur in october last year, I need to get a signal to my tachometer on the dashboard, I am using the original engine speed sensor signal to the DSL1 box, can I take the same signal to my tachometer or will that disturb the box?
On the wiring diagram there is a loop between pin 19 and 18 Why? Can I use pin 18 as a out signal to my tachometer?
I can't find a engine speed signal out from the box?
How have you all solved this issue?
