Hi guys

I want an S200SX-E to make 450hp (crank) but unsure which exhaust housing to go for. I have the choice of either .64 V-band or a larger T3 housing at the moment.

I want to get a tubular manifold and would prefer a T4 flange as would be easy to swap to a bigger turbo later down the line.

Does anyone use the S200SX-E here?

Regards!

I'm using the S257 version from the S200SX-E. With the smallest housing (0.83) the turbo spooled to late. So I built a quickspool valve into it and spool increased minimum 500rpm. For 450hp the small S254 version might be big enough...

One of Dieselmekens most recent videos shows a 606 make 427 crank hp with an S200 (unspecified size) and .64 housing. It also did not say what cc the pump was at but likely in the 120-130 range.
For 450 you might need bigger. There are a few t3 non divided .73 housings for sale out there, I think AGP is the store

Thanks for the replies guys! How late is too late with the spool firen456? Thinking a divided T4 manifold may be the most sensible to go with for ease of changing turbos, common sizes etc. T4 has the ability to make more power too I would imagine.

I know the SX-E typically doesn't come with a housing but the standard S200/300 housings are T4 bolt hole with T3 volutes, so you can always enlarge them to T4 size. Makes it hard on us T3 people though....mostly telling you this because the stock housings are cheaper usually. I have also yet to see one with an internal wastegate.

witch S200SX-E are we speaking about? there is two as fare as I know

127 090 950 19; 52,17/69,60
127 690 950 03; 57,17/76,20
and what about inter cooler place?

It's the smaller 54mm version I believe. Vehicle would be a Land Rover Defender so a bit of room. Prioritising quick spool over all out power. Cheers

It starts to spool at 2k, I got 1bar@3k and 2.8bar@3.8k with the quick spool housing. But I'm using a S256 right now because my S257 broke. I'm still waiting for the new S257. It seems that the S256 is on its limits now. I will measure EPG soon so I can tell more. I'm burning 150cc with this setup now nearly smoke free. During spool up I limit the IQ with the DSL1 to have no/less visible smoke. With letting the car smoke it would kick in much sooner... Maybe another 500rpm or more.

What a/r exhaust housing is that with? I'm looking at a .61 which is small. Will it cause problems with EGT at high rpm?

150cc is a lot of fuel too, what power do you think it's making?

I don't know. If I would know, I would have enough money to buy my own dyno Smile There are some other mods on the engine, too like drilled prechambers, NA cam, stiffer valve springs, adjusted engine timing, special grinded injectors, larger intake manifold and WAE system which doesn't work properly right now. I will put it on the dyno with the S257. I hope to burn a little more fuel with that. The most important on these engine isn't boost. It's flow. When the engine doesn't flow properly you are'nt able to burn much fuel because you won't get the air in the cylinders and the exhaust gas out of them.

there is a R2S turbo but you want to much flow for this to work well, I have not tested it yet so I know when I have done, but it also need some prefabrication and it take a lot of room, in a s210 you have about 10mm in fitment over as it look now.
