Hello everyone. I just finished the installation of a He351cw on my om605 Gwagen. Since the installation, it has developed a missfire just above idle. At idle, there is no such problem. Once the revs go beyond 1200-1300, the missfire becomes apparent, accompanied by puffs of gray smoke. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

No changes other than manifold adapted, turbo, 3 in dp and exhaust, and new oil lines were made. The car previosuly ran well.

Update on the situation: lift pump is working fine and so is the pump in the tank. The car will no longer start. Any thoughts?

You not left any plugs, tape or rags in any ports or holes have you. Cutting off the air or exhaust flow. I know a lad that’s done it’s before. If none of That then I’d suggest taking the exhaust manifold off and see if it runs without. Rules out if you’ve done or caught anything on the install.

I will check again for any misplaced bits. I'll take off the manifold and see if it starts. I'll keep posting updates as things come up.

So all the plumbing is clean. Tried starting it with no manifold with no luck. Glowplugs are working and smoke does come out of the exhaust. I am thinking air in the IP?

So I got the engine started today. All it took was priming of the whole fuel system. The misfire went away for maybe 10 minutes before manifesting itself again. This makes air in the fuel system my number one suspect. On monday I will have new fuel lines made from the tank to the ip and I'll also check for any tank fuel pump failure.

At least your getting there with it and found the problem.

Thank you Tomas.

So the misfire is gone. Here is a wrap up to bring the thread full circle. The pump at the tank would stop functioning properly at irregular intervals, leaving only the lift pump working. As it has been described in other posts, this was causing cavitation in the main supply line, filling the main gallery with air, this being the main culprit. So I changed the pump to a Bosch 044, changed the supply lines from the tank. This solved the issue to a certain extent, there was still a rough patch just above 1200rpm. So I took off the injection nozzles and had them cleaned at the local shop. Now it runs like new. Hope this helps anyone with similar problems. Thanks for the help.
