Does the Unimog have a divorced transfer case?
if so, you may find the sedan transmission to be a better match to the engine and the clutch or torque converter would already be balanced to it.
Would just need mounts and likely a custom drive shaft. this would likely be cheaper and more reliable than doing all the R/D on the flex plate.
most of the G-wagen people who do the swap end up finding the sedan tranny to be much smoother than the stock one. the automatic should be really nice off road with proper differential gearing.
it might be worth calling Sean or Steve at eurotruck-importers.com. those guys likely know someone who's already done what you're doing.
