Soon I am going to get a 6mm mechanical pump built for my OM605 with KKK turbo from OM606. I can find a non turbo OM602 core pump much more easily than the turbo one. I am thinking of setting the boost pressure to 1.5 bar (20 psi) and fuelling to 80-90cc.

1) If I run 80cc with no ALDA will I have any problems when I stomp on it ?  Besides a huge cloud of black smoke before the turbo spools of course. I think that maybe that much fuel will quench the fire since the AFR will be about 8:1 before boost builds !!

2) Does the stock ALDA have enough stroke range to go from 40-45cc no boost to 80-90cc with full boost ? Will setting the off boost fuel to 40cc limit fuel at full boost ?
Should I bother to find the stock turbo pump if the stock ALDA is crap ? Or just make an external one with a low boost wastegate actuator ?

3)Is 1.5 bar boost with intercooler enough to burn 90cc clean ? Or is 80cc the limit? That should net me about 200-220hp

I don't want too much black smoke when I stomp on it off boost since the car is going to be street driven daily. Also I want to be able to let other people drive the car without worrying too much - this is my primary concern.

Last question is for pump experts. Can a non turbo pump governor with no ALDA be drilled and linkage installed for ALDA ? There already seems to be a spot for drilling on the governor casting ?

I almost forgot the last question. When we use external ALDA on the stop lever we make excess fuel for cold start unavailable. Does that have a sigificant impact on cold start ability?

I think the stock ALDAs only cut about 15cc? Dieselmeken has external wastgate pod type ones which are fully adjustable

1977 250 270,000km (parts car)
1977 300D (ex 280) 500,000km

It cuts more on 6mm elements, and a lot more on 7.5mm elements

Answering to those dificult questions...
ALDA device can alow about 4.5 mm rack , as a reference for 6mil bosch 553 element at 90cc with idle at 6.5mm and 90cc output ALDA function of can alow 60cc more or less depending on device condition.and type.

Having no restriction on fueling will only make smoke, and high EGT but that is not a problem in a 6mil outfit, as long as the exaust press is in limits, same or slightly above boost.

Limit for no visible black and grey smoke is about 40 to 60cc depending how fast the turbo wakes, if it has lag 40 no lag 60 the 606 turbo may alow 60.

1 bar boost will clear almost 90cc , 1.5 will for sure clear all black smoke.

The ALDA linkage can be very hardly adapted to early nom altitude compensation governors. Not only drilling is needed is also necessary to install the linkages inside. Is a lot more easy to install a governor with altitude compensation device weather ADA or ALDA. The Alda /ada capsules are interchangeable only the linkage capsule spring need to be tuned for proper function.
Dadadadada

Outside fueling restriction devices on the stop lever(rack) and start. M pumps do not have cold start features. When pump is stopped the rack is at it most forward position, depending where the flyweights are positioned. Once pump is rotating at starter speed rack returns to start position about 10 to 13mm depend on gov tuning. Once the thr lever is actuated rack goes to full output. If there is a restriction device it will stop at the restriction point. Never forguet that a stock N/A engine start with 35cc at full thr.
