Sitting in my garage is my race team's W116 300SD with a very very tired 617.950 that requires 30sec+ of glow plug to start when warm and after boiling all the water out on track scares us too much to race.

Next to it in the garage is a strong running w210 E300TD. Or at least it was strong running until I pulled the engine out.

My teammate has a w124 300D with steering and engine problems(14 head) but with a good transmission. I also hope to use it's IP.

This spring I am hoping to combine the three cars into one beautiful creation. W116 with the W124 transmission and W210 engine. What I don't know is what ancillaries I need from which cars. I assume I should grab the coolers that go with the engine and trans, but beyond that, I don't know what all else I might need.

Are there any off the shelf engine mounts that will work to put the om606 into the w116? The w126 chassis used both the 617 and the 603 which had me thinking some combo of early and late mounts might work?

My local Benz mechanic has a W116 with a NA 603 in it (and a 126 with a NA 617 ironically), so a chance some arrangement of factory mounts may work

1978 300D, 373,000km... OM617.912 with a Holset HX30W, 7.5mm IP, 711.113 5 speed (project car, 7 years off the road and counting ;/)
1977 250 270,000km (parts car)
1977 300D (ex 280) 500,000km

1981 240D 498,000

Not the same but I had good luck using factory w123 four speed parts on my w116 auto to manual conversion. Used all factory parts, just had to shorten and rethread the shift link rods and drill the w123 trans crossmember. Had to use the driveshaft from the w123 to accomodate the different trans length.
