Does it have purpose on w210 diesels? Can i vent it to just dump on ground? Losses or Benefits from this?

1998 w210 e300 TD: egr delete, muffler delete, amg 18s, I love this car!
1995 w124 e300 diesel: bolted on junkyard w210 turbo.. yes you can "easily" boost your om606na! RIP
1991 w201: putting the om606 na to turbo into this. Not enough hours in the day!

U talking about the crank vent?

A diesel has no PCV valve, you must be talking about the vent on the valve cover. Yes you can just vent it but it will be messy as this air contains oil droplets. You should at least use a catch can. But beware of those eBay catch cans that have tiny ports. Mercedes uses 16mm hose for the breather and whatever you connect to it must not be much smaller than that.

A diesel has no PCV valve, you must be talking about the vent on the valve cover. Yes you can just vent it but it will be messy as this air contains oil droplets. You should at least use a catch can. But beware of those eBay catch cans that have tiny ports. Mercedes uses 16mm hose for the breather and whatever you connect to it must not be much smaller than that.

Ideal catch can will have a sump below the out let to let the oil droplets settle with a drain at the bottom to drain. The OM 617 air cleaner has a similar sump that drains back into the engine.

I concur on the catch can setup, not only is it nicer looking than just a hose, you won't end up with everything covered in oil if you use one. Everything I service at work (from small John Deere tractors up to semi trucks) all have breather tubes with no oil catch and everything around them always ends up greasy

-1982 300D Turbo, 280k miles, ALDA apparently maxxed, fram 8038, 12 lbs boost, non-egr manifolds, W/M injection, 4 brake light mod, Gen II w126 front rotors/calipers, 4-speed swap
In the works: A/W IC, adjust pump, turbo rebuild (w/60 trim comp wheel)
-1980 300SD, 110k, project car. Goal is to get it lookin' like it did on the showroom floor (body and interior wise, not necessarily under the hood )
-1974 240D, FRESH PAINT!!!!!!

Just pipe it back into the intake. That is simple and the engine simply burns any oil vapor. The oil vapor is only a problem if you have an EGR that is mixing in soot, then you get the formation of crud on the inside of the intake system.
