So has anbody welded their differential ?
How lond did they last? and how did they do it? I'm gettin ready to weld mine so any advices?

I have welded the spider gears and made a 38x25x5mm steel plate to weld the spider gear to it...

I had to pour water into the diff case to cool the case and the gears because i didnt want to burn out the oil seals at the end of the bearing.

I'm not sure if it was a good counter measure, it was done in the heat of the moment so I hope my quick thinking did not fail me. Each time I heard the water boiling i finished the weld and stopped. I did not pour water over the welded area or forcely cooled them down.

After I was done welding I blew the residual water from the bearings with compressed air and sprayed them with brake cleaner and greased them with WD40 and some oil to prevent them from rusting out.

Hopefully the diferential won't spill it's guts during the first tests and i won't end up towing the car back to the shop.
 I've made some wight reduction modifications to the rear end to reduce the strain to the diff.
