What is the max torque 722.4 transmission can handle? I can read somewhere it handles quite high torque, some sources say it's weak like hell! What's the truth? Anyone using this in modified car?

Can't give you a number, but they are weaker than the 722.3
If you really want to keep it, your best bet would be to get a shift kit and use type f fluid. The cost.of adding clutches to handle power would be better spent on a .3 or .6 upgrade. I guess it all depends on how much power you want?

Actually it seems I would need some 350-400Nm from the tranny. How much a shift kit can increase on the original performance?
Also considering to install a 6speed manual if things will show 722.4 is really unuseable for me. W202 had 6speed manual on the later facelift version, that would be the less mess to install I think.
Do you know what kind of transmission did they use in it?
