Hi! I'm building a 94 w202 250D with 722.4 auto to super turbo, and know my big question is, what transmission should I go for, how much torque does my stock transmission handle? And does the w202 om605 have the same bellhouse as om606, 270cdi w210, and so on? Was looking into swap to bmw transmissions, but my car is an automatic, so another thought was to swap to 722.634 from a w210 270cdi that can handle 530nm, I got one in my hand for cheap with only 130k km. Is it so hard to swap from auto to manual transmission? Thanks!

hi
the 722.4 is bulid for maximal 200 NM officially
but it can handle some about 350 NM but not so long.
i drive a W124 250 t-modell original sold as a turbo with the Fin 124188 its an special Italian model.
it has original the 722.418 inside, which i drove for about 100tkm after revision, but now its at the end.
im gonna to build in the 722.3 from the 300turbo which is enough for me because my aim is only 220 hp and ca 400 NM
with the OM 602.96x

you have to think abot if you want to have an automatic tranny or if you want to shift
when shift then, tranny from 270 cdi and flywheel from Luk the singlemass set for sprinter.

the clockhouse is the same at 270 cdi and OM 60x
and to switch the car from automatic to shifter is not the most tricky thing

w202 shell is the same for auto and manual, so box and shifter is direct fit if you get the right bits.

W210/w202 bits are mostly the same, inc pedal box, some props are different length, flex joints are different size, so you have to swap yolks as well sometimes, w210/606 engine mount positions engine 25mm forward compared to w202/605 which might be useful for you.

problem with manual tranny is they all come with dual mass FW so you got to get single mass conversion, stock single mass one is on Sprinter, there are lots of threads on it, read all the project threads and you will know all lol
