Has anyone on here got experience with fitting a later w203 6 speed gearbox into a w202 chassis?
Any advice for fitment , what fits what doesn't, props, flexi's, gearbox mounts, tunnel clearance etc

Specifically for a factory manual 5 speed 717.460 equipped w202 as that's what I have.
The gearbox I have is a 716.605 from c180 kompressor w203 6 speed, managed to get the linkage and the front half of the propshaft.

I know this isn't the strongest box I could use but my car is sub 300bhp & I didn't want the clearance issues with the larger casing on transmission tunnel.

Be great to here from anyone who has done this swap or any advice to point me in the right direction

Hi Juggs,
I've hooked a 716.605 onto my OM606 successfully. It's not in a W202 chassis though. I've test driven it but have no idea if it is able for the 606 torque long term as I'm now in the bodywork phase of my project and the car is stripped bare. My engine is completely standard.
I had to mount the box at an angle because the bell housing is orientated for a motor with pistons running up and down vertically rather than at a slight angle as they do in the 606. I don't know if this will cause any issues with lubrication, etc.
All but 1 of the bolts lined up for connecting gearbox to engine.
I used a sprinter flywheel (with some modification) and clutch, but maybe you have all that already on your car.

1992 W201 190D 2.0L and 1971 W108 280SE with OM606, electronic pump and 6 speed manual gearbox.
