Hello everybody,

I am running a nice w124 wagon with om 606962 and 716654. I have installed well known hansebangers "old" holset hx40 together with his "old" Pasi-pump. I met hans through his youtube clips and we became friends. I realized my std pretty much the same way he "invented" his. (I will offer the 7mm Pasi-pump for sale here as I get a 8,5 mm pump in autumn…). Everything is very nice Big Grin even smoke emission is acceptable  Smile

But now I have a clutch problem.

So far I am running a SM-Flywheel, PP, clutch set (240 mm) designed for sprinters as a exchange-device to single mass flywheel. I had it changed /machined a little bit

and it worked nicely so far.

350hp and 500Nm torque estimated.

Hallin´ass and lots of fun ...

Now I´m am loosing brake fluid inside the tranny as this "opener" leaks  (don´t know the engl. word for the device) Clutch seems to be spilled over by the fluid, as it slips now.

I have to dismantle everything and within the operation I wanted to go for a new stronger clutch setup. I have to use an organic clutch as I am drivin´ in munich often with trailer.

The 765 sachs PP seems the right choice for me.

Is anyone driving this clutch setup with om 606.962 and 716.654? And could I get information how to machine flywheel etc …

Please help me out.

I think the step is 1mm, but can't remember for sure.

Only thing is it sounds like your input shaft is going to be short since you're using that sprinter clutch setup. Not familiar with the 716 transmissions but I know that sprinter conversion is used on the dual mass transmissions. Not sure if the 765 sachs PP would work unless you do a custom flywheel to fit the PP with the short input shaft and have the input shaft be supported still.

'98 E300 Turbo "Juliette" - Brabus wheels and almost all the options a w210 could have
'87 300D Turbo "Roxanne" - #22 head - 400E brakes - EGR Delete - 17" Staggered AMG 5 spoke rims from CLK500 - 5 Spd manual
2007 Chevy 2500HD CCSB Duramax with about 400-500 rwhp depending on the tune I use Big Grin
1983 300D Silver Exterior/Black inside - Sold and will be missed, may we never meet in a PnP.

The PP bolts thread into both the FW and the starter ring. If the surface of the FW is taller than the starter ring, attaching the PP will be sketchy. Probably can't be done.

Hi capflya,

the conversion kit includes SmFlywheel, clutch disk and PP … It works on DM-Flywheel-Transmissions … the kit has got a bearing for the inputshaft …

Worked all right so far but not with our caravan on the hook … clutch setup was to weak in the final holiday-test …

I´ll report if there are some news with the flywheel for sachs PP 765 ...

Cheers

With sachs 765 pressureplate you are looking for 10mm thick clutch plate (when flywheel is without any steps), this way when it starts to wear it still improves clamping force with that pressureplate. Ideal thickness is somewhere around 9.7 or something like that.

Alright guys. Here it is...

Sachs 765 is made for a 9.2mm clutch. So first of all, measure the clutch you are gonna use. If it has some internal springs, make sure to compress them really hard.

So if it turns out you have an 8mm clutch the step hight should be 1.2mm. 8mm + 1.2mm = 9.2mm...

If it's an 8.5mm clutch you need a step hight of????

...Yea that's right 0.7mm Smile

The Sachs 765 is REALLY sensitive to clutch thickness so make this right.

SAME INFO APPLIES TO THE Sachs 618

I can help you out with all your manual transmission, clutch, flywheel, intake and exhaust manifold issues.

(08-18-2016, 03:45 AM)F.R.A.S Hi folks and "informers",

got some news too. There´s a lad in U.K., who sells the whole setup with sachs 765 ...

http://www.dieselpumpuk.com

He claims it was good for 600 hp on the road ...

We´ll see.

The setup should be on the way to "my" garage. A soon as I tested it you´ll hear from me ...

Greetings form Italy/Toskana(holliday yeah … Cool )
