Hi Guys,

I have just removed my 606 and 722.6 gearbox from a breaker car, and the shift lever on the auto box is stuck in Park.

I haven't driven the car as it was scrapped due to body corrosion, but wasn't sure of this was normal, i.e., will it be unlocked by the controller when connected, or should the physical lever be able to move freely when not connected to anything?

Just to be clear, I'm talking about the small lever on the left rear of the auto box that the gear shifter connects to from inside the car.

Thanks

No. The cable interlock goes in the rear. You push it in and it will come out of park. You will need to remove this and delete the function for a swap.

You're a star! I'm guessing it's the little black part, on the rear of the box that's held in by 1 Allen bolt and looks like a speedo drive?

Yes, that's the one but don't screw out the bolt, just turn the plastic peace counterclockwise to remove it. There is a spring in it, I cut off the wire and modified it so it pushes the switch without shift lever. Newer boxes from w211 don't have this.

There is actually a deletion seal plug for this. So you can just remove it completely. But like I said you must remove the interlock lever inside the transmission.

Thanks lads... I'll just make up a bung and seal it off.
