Hey there!!!

im bas, 23 year, and am from amsterdam.

for those who already saw my other post, skip the intro, i just copied my other tread Wink

im new to the whole diesel buisiness, always owned petrol cars, so please be gentle with me.
i owned 3 BMW e30 325I cars, 2 e36's and a renault twingo [Image: dodgy.gif]  (dont laugh, grown men need to go from a to b too...)
the e30's where all drift/racecars, the e36's dailys and the twingo is my student car atm.

The reason i am on this forum, here it comes, i bought a volvo 245 from 1975, and plan to put a om605 in it! [Image: angel.gif]
i need a lot of info, which i can find on here, and the things i cannot find i ask.

i will also make a project page when the time comes, but dont expect it any time soon, first gonna do stopping and handling, then POWAAAAAAAAH
my aim is around 400-ish hp, on a students budget (gotta love the broke life) so expect a lot of home brew construction.

-end of intro, carry on...-

so i finaly have the volvo, and it is in a sad condition...
the trunk is gooooone, and there is rust on places i do not want it...
but hey, it was cheap!! Angel

Nice project , i too am building my car on a student life budget, you have to get a little creative.
My goal was also 400-450hp.
Nearly there now, best of luck with your build. Good community of people all willing to give advice.

Now the big decision, manual or auto?

thanks m8, i like the challenge!! lucky i just heard today i got hired at a new Saturday job, so gonna make some more moneys for the car.
btw, do you have a build tread? if so, just post it below Wink

and manual or auto? HOW DARE U ASK THIS!!!!!!!!  Dodgy
nah, just kidding, going for a manual. just not sure yet which one.
heard some pretty bad things about merc gearboxes so i'm going to stay away from them.
leaning towards a bmw 6 speed from a 530D, or a cosworth dogbox.

Here are the photos of the real damage...
looks horrendous, but its not that bad, nothing a good body-shop wont fix.
it has been used to ram a pay terminal at a gas station (not sure why though...)

i hope to get it back somewhere in the next 2 weeks, and before i throw in a different engine il upgrade the suspension, brakes, diff and everything needed to have 400 ponies under the hood

Manual was outside my budget so I've gone with a rebuilt e55 box.
Yeah the merc boxes fail quickly at that power level.
Only option at present for people is the BMW box with either an adapter plate or welded bellhousing.
And then an uprated clutch.

Few members here can help you out with that as a bolt in solution.

I upgraded everything first before going with the bigger pump and turbo.

Somehow this car looks very familiair with me... Didn't it have a BMW engine in it?
I was thinking of trowing a 606 in a Volvo, but I let that go. So I'm very curious!

Edit: never mind... It was this one: http://www.autoblog.nl/archive/2011/08/2...on-vd-week

well, manual is one of the things i MUST have.
and did read about it, so when the time comes, il ask around Smile
as far as clutch goes: saw a sachs clutch that holds up to 500nm so il go for that one probably.

it is quite similar, but not the same though...

as far as a om605/606 in a volvo 200 series : im probably one of the first to swap it in.

guess who's back (back back) back again (gain gain) i am back (yeeeeey)

its been a while, busy times...
BUT!!!! ther is progress.

fixed up the brick, finaly.

still a lot of work, but the end is in sight (body wise)

next step: om606 time!!!!!

so if there is anyone in holland, germany, belgium or in drivable distance and has a complete om606 (turbo, ecu, wireloom, alternator, that kind of stuff) and maybe a manual gearbox that fits and takes the power, (and preferably a cheap), give me a message

its not much panel damage u have. if the chassis isnt warped u could pull on it with a chassis straightener ( not sure if it is right how i spelled it)
