I've only recently started working on these Mercedes diesels. I'm hoplessly addicted so why not embrace it!

The first car I bought is a 1981 300D. I purchased the car from a brew your own biodiesel hippy type chick in Arlington Wa who had let the car get run down. When I purchased the car for $400 it had not run in 4+ years. I put in a new battery, bled the injectors, and fired it up. I put a little over $1000 dollers in it, and the car now resides in Utah with my sister. The car runs like a sewing machine.

The next car I purchased in July of 2008 is a 1981 300TDT. I bought this car west of Olympia Wa for $600. This car had not been run in 1.5 years and was in very poor condition. The same type of, don't do any maintenance type of person owned this car as well. No engine mounts for who knows how long caused a myriad of issues. Everything from the thermostat falling apart, to the needles falling off the gauges. The inside was one of the most appalling things I've ever seen. I've began replacing almost everything in the interior. The car still needs tons of things, but is in fair condition now. I'll keep this updated as I go.
Things I've modified so far:
ALDA
Delivery Valves turned
Chopped the Springs 2" or so
17" aftermarket wheels with 235/40r 17's in the front and 275/40r 17's in the rear (yes they fit not problem)
Straight pipe 3.5" exhaust
More to come!

No it's not two tone. It's painted a non-factory color though. Here are a couple more shots. I'm still working on the stance of the car. I still need to take a little more out of the front. Big Grin

Yes I know the bumper is horrible. The grill is worse, and we won't even talk about the carpet. As far as rolling the fenders? I haven't had any issues yet, but I haven't really hammered it in the corners yet.

Did you put new shocks on with the spring cut? You will certainly need to roll the inner lip agaisnt the fender to keep it from catching.

Nope, I just cut the springs. It doesn't ride to bad, and the hydraulic suspension still works. I just adjusted the suspension hieght valve in the rear. It works like a charm.
