Ive rebuilt a new 722.6 e55 gearbox for my car with a 270cdi bellhousing
to get rid of a problem from the last box and also to uprate it.

But im getting the same problem with this box, previously thought to be a bad pump but the filter keeps getting blocked with
some kind of debris rust like.
it can only be from the torque converter or the two oil lines from the gearbox bellhousing to the front of the engine, as
everythin else has been replaced or at least thoroughly cleaned.

So rather than replace gearbox filters after 3-5km until the debris goes away i want to see what i can swap the torque converter with.

I believe an e55 one wont fit the bellhousing but possible a v12 one will
The v12 ones are cheap enough also on fleebay.
Im also running ole controller so not worried about stock tcu.

Just want a good bolt on solution without to much messing.

The E55 won't fit indeed. I've bought a spare 270cdi gearbox for parts like the torque converter. Don't know for sure it fits but I reckon its the strongest diesel torque converter.

I doubt the v12 torque converter will be smaller....

Yeah someone on std mentioned he fitted a v12 biturbo converter and also that an e55 wouldnt fit.
Thats why i wanted to confirm.

Otherwise im left looking at 270cdi or 320cdi ones if i want a fresh one.

Is it confirmed that the 320cdi converter fits the 606 bellhousing and starter gear?

320cdi converter is exactly the same size as 300td but bolt holes to starter gear/flexplate are different, offset or distance to flexplate is also different because 320cdi flexplate is thinner than from 300td. I don't know about 270cdi converter, I belive if it has different bolt holes then with 270cdi flexplate it should fit.

Okay cheers for the help. Looks like I may just run with getting an e300 one and swap or flush the lines.
