4 speed manual rebuild parts?

So, I scored a 4 speed from a 300d euro at the junkyard today, along with the pedal setup, shifter and front drive axle assembly, someone had previously pulled the engine, so it was basically just sitting there on the ground for me! It appears to shift through the gears just fine, but it had 170k on it, and I'd like to give the trans a good once over before i go installing it into my wagon. Question is, where can i get rebuild parts for this thing? I'm thinking at most it'll need some fresh bearings, but all the online sites don't seem to show that stuff, presumably since the manuals are so uncommon here in the US. Another question is clutches, is $300 really the best price for a 240d clutch kit hock: thats gonna cost me twice what I paid for the trans!

At 170k miles, its likely still in good condition unless its got water contamination. I doubt it would need more than the 2nd and/or 3rd gear synchros to get nearly-new performance out of it.
$300-350 is about where its at for a clutch kit. Watch eBay, rare deals come along. I got my clutch and pressure plate for $25 on eBay.
Don't forget, you need the complete driveshaft assembly, not just the front stub!

Get the EPC and you can have all the diagrams and part numbers for everything inside the tranny.

I'm installing this in a wagon, so i presumed that even if the rear shaft was different, it wouldnt help since the wagons are longer, did I think wrong?

ok, cool, so now its just down to tracking down a flywheel and reasonably priced clutch. I actually found a cheap clutch kit on ebay.de (120 euro or so) but they wont ship to the US of course.

If you don't get the entire driveshaft you will have to get the new assembly rebalanced.

I hadn't thought of that, looks like there are some reasonably priced flywheels at least, some say they come with clutches too! What year 240d's should I be shooting for here?
