Anyone know what size tubing/hose/fittings are used on the clutch line that goes from the slave cylinder up and over the trans to the line that pokes out the floor from the master cylinder? The rubber flex piece on my line is leaking and sometimes doesn't hold enough pressure to depress the clutch, so my car is parked for the moment. Was hoping I could make up a new flex piece from some speedflex line or something similar? This is for W124/W201 - Maybe W123 is the same size?

I'm thinking I can use some flare fittings on both sides of the hose so it would be removable without having to pull the whole line, just need to know what thread size and what not in case I need to order online. BMW does something similar, this might even work if it's the right size and I can get another flare nut - http://www.technafitstore.com/BMW-Clutch...wc-120.htm

I've searched but haven't been able to find the info. Tried the 190 forums as well but no luck, I'm thinking someone else must have done this before?

I used airline compression fittings for mine and I think they are 6mm. I used nylon fuel/air line for the pipe from master to slave cyl which takes good care of any engine movement and vibration and is exceeding tough. Although it's on a 107 the kit is from a 124 donor..

edit to say they're 6mm (1/4") not 8mm as first thought. Huh

I have some of those pieces in the garage, so let me check this evening. I do know that you can buy the steel pieces at Autozone, same fittings and size. The flex (rubber hose) piece can also be purchased, but it does not pop up under a W123 piece. I will try to remember where I got it from.

Ended up doing something similar. Local Parker store makes stainless braided brake lines and happened to have the correct fittings. Got a piece of 1/4" brake tubing and the 12mm X 1.0 tube nuts for inverted flare, aka double flare, and bent it to match the original line and flared the ends.

Just have to install it now... will post a pic later
