I want to upgrade my cams but I have to send mine out to KM cams to do that. I don't want my car down for a month so I was wondering if anyone has their cams out and I could give you some money for letting me lend yours and i will send you mine when I get them back.

Have u considering using om606 non turbo cams? Aparently they have higher lift.
What do you want to get out of the cams?

I think it has been discussed that the centerline is not the same and the duration isnt anymore

The NA cams have more lift  (1,2mm) IIRC.. They are a straight swap. Did it myself this week. The only "problem" is a slight overlap due to being a NA cam, but i do not think this is a major problem compared to the potential power gain.

Does anyone know the actual power gains with NA camshafts?

No, not yet.

I will dyno my car with OE turbo cam, then the NA cam. And i will post the graph and my subjective opinion. It is a OM606 btw

Will post a build thread soon. Still have some work left and a dyno trip or two. Aming for 550-650hp

I wrote this in another thread:

I took the numbers from the Mercedes workshop manual with the cam and used it on an online calculators that use the calculation @1mm lift. Mercedes numbers is @2mm lift.

According to that there is no overlap between the intake and exaust. Means when the piston is in TDC both valves is closed. Difference is just that intake is open a little bit longer before the compression stroke starts.

This is my result:
Your Turbo has an Overlap of -26.00 degrees and has in Intake Duration of 168.00 degrees. The Exhaust Duration is 191.00 degrees. Your Lobe Separation Angle is 102.75 degrees. The Inlet Cam has an Installed Centerline of 96.00 degrees ATDC. The exhaust cam has an Installed Centerline of 109.50 degrees BTDC.

Your N/A has an Overlap of -26.00 degrees and has in Intake Duration of 181.00 degrees. The Exhaust Duration is 191.00 degrees. Your Lobe Separation Angle is 106.00 degrees. The Inlet Cam has an Installed Centerline of 102.50 degrees ATDC. The exhaust cam has an Installed Centerline of 109.50 degrees BTDC.

I should be getting my complete om606.962 next week and assuming the valves are no different ill be using the entire head + cams from my NA606.910 to make things easy.

If thats the case id be more than happy to send you my turbo cams for a bit of money + shipping costs.

Now ya tell me! I just was doing my valve springs tonight in the car and I lost 1 f'ing keeper so I figure that means that I should just send my cams in since I gotta wait for parts anyways. Man is sucks doing valve springs in car. Took about 2 hours messing with all those keepers.

Yeah its a blessing though. I really wanted to do cams but didn't want my car down and couldn't find any stockers. Now I am forced to have to wait for parts so might as well get er done!

Exactly! I'm excited to hear your take on the KMcams!

Do you happen to know if the NA vs turbo heads have the same valves in them?
