Hi everyone,

Im going to get a 603 on Friday and I'm thinking about putting it in a 84 300cd I've got.  The CD has a bad motor and I'd really like to put the 603 in it but I'm not sure what kind of modifications I'll have to do.  Will the 603 bolt up to the original motor mounts of the cd, or will it take a bunch of extra work to mount it? Also, if it is a direct fit will the tranny and everything else bolt up?

I looked threw all 15 pages in the projects section and didn't see any w123 603 swap threads so I figured I'd ask.  Im sure there's plenty of them out there, I just haven't found any yet.

Thanks for any info and/or advise!!

the 603 will not bolt up to your transmission. 617 mounting arms are different then 602/3 engines as well. You'll have to do "a bunch of work".

i have dropped om 606 to my w123. I have used w126 om603, m103 engine mounts and two spacers, one have 1cm and the second  2 cm. I moved engine about 2,5 cm to back Smile. engine sits like that:

I figured it all wouldn't bolt up but I wasn't sure.  Looks like I'll be putting that 603 into my 1951 Oldsmobile then.  Diesel powered ledsled (yee)
