Hi,

I'm in Europe , I have a W111 230S Universal swapped with an OM 617 NA  and a 717.400, 5 Speed from a W123.

I also have a W123 300 TDT with a 617A and an auto transmission, i would to swap the old 617 to an OM 602 or 605 turbo.

I found an OM 602.982 (2.9l), what do you think about this engine ?

Is it possible to mount an mechanical pump from OM 602 turbo ?

In my 300 TDT (for road use), i would like to have 170cv with a lot of torque. I think take an auto transmission (4 speed) from a W124 turbo.

What type of turbo should i take ?

For you is it a good swap or should i go on an om 605 directly ?

Thanks

hello there , or should i say "bom soir",

First things first, well if u really want power u should go in the search for a 605.960/1/2.

That engine u talk about 602.98X is a direct injection engine, it wont work properly with the inline pump from 602, maybe if u´re lucky u can tune a M pump to drive the DI injectors but in any case u still have the injection advance device wich u have to tune too.

once u have a 605 properly tuned , u may easyli arrive at the 300 HP mark. and lots of TQ.

and once u have a 605 like that your 717 gear box is good to the bin, same as clutch. about auto trans i just hate it , hate it with all my heart.

the turbo , well i have the GT2359, and i´m very happy with it. it can do that job u need.

any how i´m after a 602.982 engine, my reason is just to steal the crankshaft for a nerd project.

any doughts scream , people here can help u out.

by the way , how much is a 602.982 around there?

regards

yep,
GT2359V is a garret product.
usualy found on OM613 or OM648, or 5cyl cdi AMG "C30CDI" usually on the later engines vane control is electric wich is of no use for us.
i have pictures yes , but i dont know how to post them,
600€ is expensive for a such an engine. anyway they are rare thats why.
anyhow somebody asked me 400€ only for the block.

There are Om 605 turbo for 500-600€

Can you send photos by email ?

For you, an OM 605 with an OM602 turbo pump, a 2359 GT is a good idea?

A stock pump is enough ?

hy , i can send pics by email,

yes a 605 with a GT2359 and a w203 intercooler(it can be squezed under the front bumper) is a good bet.

IP, $%&%$ . well the stock 602 TD pump wont do any good. (IN A DIESEL ENGINE HP IS PROPORTIONAL TO FUEL INJECTED)

The 602 IP stock is a 40cc pump with alda aplied, good for 120HP or so, installing it in a 605 will make the same HP, more less engine eficiency , being a 4V engine and the use of a VNT type turbine, in the end maybe u gain 10HP and 20Nm torque.

Of course u can increase fuel delivery, to lets say 60cc, it will increase HP due to the law of diesel engines. despite injection time will take too long to happen. for this reason people use to change the element size.

i dont know how much fuel is the 5,5mm element found in the 602/662/605N/A engine is able to put out, it wont be much, maybe it does not reach 60cc, on the other way a 6mm element can put out 110cc. if used for 60cc the injection time is perfect.
